New Year, New Plan

Happy New Year!!!  I cannot believe that we are already in a new year.  I now understand what my grandparents meant when they said the older you get the faster time goes by.  It’s like you blink and you have traveled months into the future.  One thing for sure that never seems to stop is time.  You may stop, but time continues on.

As I approached this new year, I did what most people do, and I reflected back on the past year.  I was excited to actually see the evidence of what I had accomplished throughout the year.  You see when 2015 came in, my husband and I sat down and took one area of our life that we wanted to focus on and set goals for.  Honestly, the paper we wrote everything out on somehow got misplaced, and forgotten about.  In cleaning up some old paperwork recently, I found the paper. Interestingly enough, although the paper was lost and forgotten about, we still managed to accomplish every single goal that we placed on that paper by the end of 2015.  Wow, it was like once we wrote  our goals out they somehow embedded in us, and became the soundtrack we moved to throughout the year.

As I began to think about 2016, I received an email that encouraged me to set a plan for every area of my life for the year.  So I asked myself, if this is what I did in 2015 with a plan for one area, what more can I accomplish with a plan for multiple areas of my life?  I talk a lot about my goals, dreams, and aspirations, but I realized that lately that’s all I do is talk.  I have some how become more of a talker than a doer, and time just keeps passing by.  Not this year though.  This year, I am going to do as I did last year and establish a plan of action, and work to accomplish my goals. While I can’t stop time from progressing, I can control what I do with the time I have. I’m going to do like Frank Ocean says and, “Work Hard in Silence, and Let Success Be My Noise!”  I love that!  I encourage you to try making a plan of action for your year.  You’ll be amazed at what you can get accomplished.

As always, I thank you for stopping by and remember today is a great day to make a positive impact in the lives of those around you, so Be Friendly, Show Favor, and Give Love!
